SAF-HOLLAND appoints Arne Joern as Chief Operating Officer
Luxembourg, October 17, 2016 - The Board of Directors of the commercial vehicle supplier SAF-HOLLAND S.A. has appointed Arne Joern (48) as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of the Management Board.
The proven manufacturing and lean management specialist has been with SAF-HOLLAND for the past four years during which he has held several manufacturing-related executive positions. He was the key person responsible for successfully carrying out the Group's plant consolidation and process automation in Germany. As COO, Joern will assume global responsibility for the organization and management of the manufacturing and operating processes of the SAF-HOLLAND Group's production network. In doing so he will play a key role in gearing the Group's operating business towards achieving the Strategy 2020 growth targets, which includes sales of EUR 1,500 million in the year 2020 as compared to sales revenue of EUR 1,060 million in 2015. Joern's key tasks, aside from his responsibility for global operations, will be to coordinate the purchasing, engineering and quality management activities worldwide.
Joern has a degree in mechanical engineering and is a graduate REFA engineer for industrial engineering. Joern brings a sound knowledge of the automotive and commercial vehicle industries from his role as Group Quality Resident Engineer for Valeo at VW Wolfsburg and VW Commercial Vehicles in Hanover. From 2007 through 2010, he was the Executive Director of Operations at NORGREN GmbH, a subsidiary of the engineering and industrial conglomerate IMI plc. Before joining SAF-HOLLAND, Joern was a plant manager at Still GmbH in Hamburg.
