Position Available: Maintenance Supervisor

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Qualifications Required:
Qualification 1: High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required;
Qualification 2: Two-year degree from college or technical school preferred; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualification 3: Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Qualification 4: Ability to use a personal computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Qualification 5: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and small group situations to managers, supervisors, shop floor personnel, and other employees of the organization.
Qualification 6: Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Qualification 7: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Qualification 8: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Summary of Job Duties:
Responsible for the overall coordination and direction of the maintenance and alteration of equipment, machinery and buildings by performing the duties of the position. Provide management services for all buildings and grounds at the facility, aids in ensuring the best possible use of the facilities at the most economical cost, by using suppliers and contractors that provide the best value.
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance and alteration of equipment, machinery and buildings by performing the following duties.
- Maintains all equipment and facilities to optimize safety, cost and productivity.
- Details and specifies preventative maintenance programs.
- Specifies and orders all maintenance supplies such as hydraulic oils and greases for equipment.
- Is an active part of the Safety Team.
- May oversee construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
- Oversees the maintenance of all building alarm systems.
- Coordinates the use of the Maintenance Department labor for new equipment installations and modifications with Manufacturing Engineers.
- Meet with supervisor and subordinates at least once per year to review job performance using the employee’s job descriptions as a basis for approval.
- Support quality, safety and environmental management systems as required.
