Alexander Geis

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) und President Region EMEA

Alexander Geis has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the SAF-HOLLAND Group since February 26, 2019. Since January 1, 2016, in the course of the new organizational structure, Alexander Geis has held the position as President Region EMEA and is member of the Management Board. On December 14, 2018 Alexander Geis was appointed as the Group’s Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) in addition. In this position, he is responsible for all of the strategic and operational purchasing activities within the SAF-HOLLAND Group worldwide. From July 1, 2011 until December 31, 2015, Alexander Geis was as member of the Management Board responsible for the Aftermarket Business Unit after assuming overall responsibility for the segment on October 1, 2009. As Head of this Business Unit, he was responsible for the strategic and operative alignment of the global spare parts business. His professional career at SAF-HOLLAND began in 1995 in the sales area. In the following years, Alexander Geis took on various tasks with a continuous growth in responsibility in the company. These included Sales Director Foreign Markets and Director Spare Parts as well as Vice President and, most recently, President of the Aftermarket Business Unit. Alexander Geis holds an MBA from the University of Maryland, USA.

Dr. Matthias Heiden

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Dr Matthias Heiden has been the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a member of the Management Board of the SAF-HOLLAND Group since March 1, 2017. He is responsible for the areas of Finance, Accounting and Controlling, IT, Legal and Compliance, Human Resources, and Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. Dr Heiden holds a degree in business administration and a PhD in economics. In addition to his apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank in London, he studied business & finance at Suffolk College, UK. He then continued his career at Deutsche Bank Saar AG and completed a dual-study program at the University of Saarland with a degree in business administration. He graduated from the university’s Institute for Accounting and Auditing with a doctorate degree in economics. Following assignments at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and Ernst & Young, Dr Heiden joined SAP SE as assistant to the Executive Board and then held executive positions, among others, in Corporate Financial Reporting. He was also the CFO of SAP Svenska AB and SAP’s Head of Global Treasury. Between October 2014 and February 2017, Dr Heiden  was CFO of SAP’s German subsidiary and Regional CFO for Middle and Eastern Europe.

Dr. André Philipp

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Dr. André Philipp has been Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the SAF-HOLLAND Group and a member of the Group Management Board since January 1, 2019. In his role as COO, Dr. Philipp carries the primary responsibility for all of the Group’s production plants worldwide. He is also responsible for Global Quality, Global Lean Organization and Global Operations.

Dr. Philipp has a degree in industrial engineering and his doctorate is in economics. After completing an additional MBA degree, he obtained his doctorate from the Chair of Management at Comenius University in Slovakia. Dr. Philipp has extensive experience in the automotive industry, particularly in the North American and Chinese markets. After completing his studies, he worked for the Valeo Group first as Project Manager and then as Managing Director of Valeo Beleuchtung Deutschland GmbH. At the HELLA Group, Dr. Philipp held various positions, including as the President of Hella Lighting Corporation in South Carolina, USA from 2005 on and later as Manager of “Operational Excellence” for the entire Lighting Business Unit. In 2007, Dr. Philipp assumed additional management roles in China as Director Operations, General Manager, CTO and COO initially for the HELLA Group and then in 2011 for Deutz Dalian Engine Co. Ltd., a joint venture between DEUTZ AG and the Chinese motor vehicle and engine manufacturer FAW.

Steffen Schewerda

President Region Americas

Steffen Schewerda is President Region Americas since January 1, 2016 and member of the Management Board. Previously, from July 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015, Schewerda was President of the Trailer Systems Business Unit. At the same time, Schewerda, as member of the Management Board, has been responsible for Group Operations since June 20, 2007. Steffen Schewerda has been with the company since 1997 in various management roles including Head of Material Management and Logistics and responsible for the entire production at the German locations as well as industrial engineering. Steffen Schewerda studied engineering at the University of Aachen and has a MBA from the Universities of Augsburg and Pittsburgh, USA.
