Position Available: Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Manager

Reports to: Plant Manager
Qualification 1: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or other technical discipline from a four-year college or university.
Qualification 2: Five years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment and 2 years supervisory experience.
Qualification 3: Ability to use a personal computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Window, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Qualification 4: Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical data, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, solid geometry, and trigonometry
Qualification 5: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, and/or government regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural instructions; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Qualification 6: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Manages the industrial and manufacturing engineering functions for the facility. ME and Industrial engineering functions include, but are not limited to time and motion studies, plant layout, bills of material structure production methods and cost reduction. Manufacturing engineering functions include but are not limited to machinery specifications, process and production methods, jigs/fixture requirements, and material handling methods & machine center programming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In each of the duties listed below the employee is expected to perform to the highest standards of quality, to strive for maximum customer satisfaction, and to continually look for ways to improve the methods, practices and procedures of this position:
Implement and drive LEAN activities.
Work as Champion for the LEAN program.
Actively manages the problem solving activities.
Provides strong leadership to direct reports.
Deploy goals in Hoshin Kanri approach.
Responsible for project management concerning industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering or facilities enhancement.
Responsible for the maintenance of the bills of material, production standards, and routings.
Responsible for the accuracy of bill of materials & routings via an auditing process.
Reports and maintains productivity data.
Analyze and initiate actions to improve manufacturing processes, methods and the productivity of the facility.
Directs methods and machinery studies for cost reduction; assists in the development of cost justification for capital improvements.
Responsible for development and maintenance of machine control programs.
Responsible for maintaining a safe OSHA compliant work area.
Manages the cost reduction program for the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance and providing employees timely feedback on performance issues; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
