The Board of Directors today appointed Dr. Martin Kleinschmitt (49), member
of the Executive Board of NSL Consulting AG, Berlin, as Chief Restructuring
Officer to the Management Board of SAF-HOLLAND effective August 1. As a
renowned expert and experienced interim manager in this field, he will
support the Company's financial reorganization and restructuring. Martin
Kleinschmitt already worked as CFO of the German subsidiary SAF-HOLLAND
GmbH on an interim basis from 2002 until March 2005. He has an excellent
reputation among the Company's banks and shareholders.

Dr. Martin Kleinschmitt has been a lawyer with the partnership Noerr
Stiefenhofer Lutz since 2001 and leads the consulting subsidiary NSL
Consulting AG. Their focus is on restructuring and company transactions as
well as on the assumption of interim management functions.

The financing banks have welcomed this step and announced their intention
to constructively support the financial restructuring of the Company. With
the execution of the reorganizational measures implemented by SAF-HOLLAND,
they see the probability that SAF-HOLLAND can continue operations as good.
Instead of an extension of the stand-still agreement, which would lead to
additional expenses for the Company, quick and concrete steps for the
achievement of a solution have been agreed with the banks. The financial
restructuring should lay the foundation for a sustainable, long-term
concept.
